Entry: A Poem Saturday, January 01, 2005

Couldn't think of something to write about so I'm gonna put up a poem I wrote in 2003.

2000 years ago
In the town of Bethlehem
Jesus Christ was born
The saviour of men

His life was perfect
Not one sin in his books
But all of his righteous talk
Earned him some dirty looks

He was whipped and beaten,
Scorned and despised
He was paraded around
Like some sort of prize

3 nails pierced his body
As he hung off the cross
The people wanted to say
That they were the boss

With his last dying breath
The noon went black like night
His followers believed
That evil had taken flight

But three days in the future
When people attended the tomb
An Angel there declared
That his life was back in bloom

So what will you do about Lord Jesus Christ?
Will put his love away on a shelf?
Would you rather that He took your punishment?
Or would you rather take it yourself?
